Constance Bryant
Director of Financial Empowerment
Constance Bryant (She/Her), the Director of Financial Empowerment & Educational Campaigns at CAAB, has made significant contributions to the field. In this role, she has successfully managed the day-to-day operations of all financial empowerment programs, benefiting low- to moderate-income residents of Washington, DC. With over ten years of experience in the non-profit sector and financial education, Constance's work with Jubilee Housing, where she helped low- to moderate-income residents pay their monthly rent and promoted long-term housing and financial stability, is a testament to her dedication. She also led and developed financial and educational programs for residents aged 5 to 95, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
In Harlem, New York, Constance served as a customized employment specialist at Sinergia Inc. In this role, she utilized a unique blend of empathy, creativity, and resourcefulness to create job opportunities for mentally and physically challenged individuals. She also promoted financial education, ensuring these individuals had the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively.
Constance's commitment to helping others is deeply personal. It stems from her mother, an educator who instilled in her the value of independence. Her mother’s advice was always the same when faced with adversity: "I won't give you the answer because you wouldn’t learn. However, she always encouraged and empowered me to find the answer. This philosophy is akin to the proverb, "If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day; if you teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime," which guides Constance's work.
