Consumer Education

CAAB advocates for public policies that support all people’s efforts to save money and become financially stable and self-sufficient. CAAB conducts research and collaborates with research organizations—including the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution—to highlight economic issues affecting low-income residents, and proposes programs and policies to eliminate barriers to saving and wealth creation.

CAAB also works with banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to make their products and services more accessible and responsive to the needs of low-income consumers. At the same time, CAAB educates consumers about factors that influence the cost of financial products and services so that they can better evaluate their options and make choices that will help them create wealth rather than debt.
