CAAB is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, tax ID 52-2002672. We participate on GuideStar, the on-line standard for nonprofit accountability, and are a featured organization in the inaugural Catalogue for Philanthropy for Greater Washington. The Catalogue annually showcases the best small nonprofits in the Washington, DC region.

Since 1997, CAAB has created opportunities for people of all incomes to improve their financial management skills, increase their savings, and build wealth.  Through CAAB’s efforts, more than 400 DC residents have invested in a college education, job training, a small business, or their first home; over the past two years more than 4,000 low-income workers were able to claim and keep the money they’ve earned by filing their taxes at a free tax site, and hundreds of families and individuals have been connected to financial education and credit counseling programs.

By clicking on the button above, you can designate your donation for CAAB's general operations, financial education classes, citywide campaigns to support family economic security (including the DC Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign and DC Saves), or to match the savings of an IDA or MDA saver. Each dollar donated to match IDA or MDA savings will leverage an equal or greater amount of federal or District of Columbia government grant funds to help a saver invest in a college education, job training, a small business, or their first home.
